The Civil Engineering Department of CWIT started in the year 1957. The Department conducts Diploma in Civil Engineering since its inception. The Department had conducted for employed diploma holders, the Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Part Time Degree Program in Civil Engineering from 1983 to 2014. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as buildings, roads, dams, canals, effluent treatment plants etc.

Initially Diploma in Computer Application,Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications, Advanced Diploma in Computer Software, System Analysis & Applications courses were conducted in the department.The Autonomous Diploma Program in Computer Engineering was started in 1995.Well qualified and experienced faculty.Well equipped laboratories with all the required facilities and the equipments.Use of e-learning material.The computer centre of this Institute was the first centre to be established in Pune.Good alumni support is available in various activities like Guest Lectures, Industrial Visits, Curriculum Development etc.

The department now conducts Diploma programme in Electrical Engineering since 1958. 1) The department consists of dedicated and qualified staff, as per AICTE norms. 2) The staff members are the members of various professional bodies like ISTE, IEI etc. 3) The department comprises of well equipped laboratories like, Electrical Machines, Electrical Measurements, Power systems, Instrumentation, Elect. Workshop, Programmable Logic Controller etc. Education is a process of learning and acquiring knowledge. Our teachers are the key to this process, they believe in each student's capabilities and facilitate them to explore, understand and therefore learn. In Electrical Engineering Department of CWIT, we take immense pride in providing highest quality of education by paying utmost importance to teaching quality and practical learning. Our excellence is not just confined to the classroom; we are active in organizing hands on training workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
