Diploma Programme in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Department conducted a post HSC Diploma in Electronics and Radio Engineering since 1958. The Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication course was started in the year 1999. The department has highly dedicated and qualified faculty. The department has following well equipped laboratories: Electronics Circuit Analysis & Design, Basic & Applied Electronics, Electronics Workshop & Maintenance, Mechatronics, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Embedded Systems, Communications, Advanced Communication, VLSI, Power Electronics and Industrial Drives.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The students will be able to

  • To apply the acquired knowledge of basic sciences and mathematics in solving electronics and telecommunication engineering problems.
  • To build strong academic foundation and develop effective communication skills to meet industrial and social needs.
  • To inculcate team spirit, professional ethics and environmental awareness to prepare students for lifelong learning and entrepreneurship.

Program Outcomes (POs)

  • Basic and Discipline specific knowledge - Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis - Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
  • Design/development of solutions - Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
  • Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing - Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  • Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment - Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  • Project Management - Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
  • Life-long learning - Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering has been playing a vital role in the development of high skills engineers. Department of E&TC has highly qualified and experienced faculty with expertise. The department has defined the programme outcomes and all the good initiatives are undertaken to facilitate and fulfil the same. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs. We are having hard-working students, a young and dynamic faculty, whose expertise spans the range of disciplines in electronics stream and a very healthy work-culture, are the basic elements that comprise the Department of Electronics & telecommunication, the hub of the institute’s academia. We hold firm belief in our ability to succeed, and we nurture an attitude of self-reliance, confidence, commitment and responsibility to the motherland that we are to serve. I am confident that the students of the department would justify the credibility of the department by showing a high level of professional competence in their respective field.
